  1. Erik Deckers Says:

I heard Dave mention his relationship with Christ, and how important that is. And I hear other people talk about how their relationship with Christ, living for Christ, “being in God’s presence” is so important to them.

But no one, and I mean no one, has ever explained what that means or how it looks. It’s almost like the Christian version of business buzzwords the marketing types like to use (and if I ever hear someone talking about “recontextualizing a mission-critical paradigm for Jesus,” there’s going to be trouble.)

So I would like to hear you guys talk about how you live for Jesus, how you have a relationship with God, and how you live in His presence.

Erik, I love these comments! Why can’t we just speak in normal, everyday language? We’re going to address this very soon in another padcast.

    EriK,

Having a relationship with Christ is essentially submitting your life to Him. How do we build a relationship with anyone? With time and a solid comittment. Through prayer, time in the Bible (the living, breathing, Word of God), and taking up our cross daily (becoming a living sacrifice for Jesus no matter what the cost). I understand “being in God’s presence” as letting the Holy Spirit guide our lives. When we commit our lives to Christ, God will surround our hearts with the Holy Spirit to lead our lives so that we may have transformed lives that will reflect the very nature of Jesus Christ. This is a life long journey of struggle and victory. I pray that you will put your faith into Christ and commit your life to Him.
