Episode Synopsis

Welcome to part 2 of our conversation with Scott & Kellie.  If you haven’t listened to the previous podcast, you might want to do that first.  We continued the discussion on spirituality and how they have moved away from a “rule keeping” approach to a relationship with God.  Dave had to leave, so Patty stepped in and helped lead the conversation.

  1. Morris Gieselman Says:

I too grew up being dragged to church. I couldn’t wait to turn 16 and get a job that worked Sunday mornings, so I’d have a good excuse. My Dad almost never went to church. I continued to ignore God and religion through my 20’s and 30’s. God started working on my whole family through my daughter. We had her in a Christian preschool and her comments made my wife and I rethink Christianity. I, being a scientist, couldn’t get past the creation/evolution debate. I couldn’t believe in the Gospel, if I couldn’t believe in Genesis. I always felt they were incompatible. I began to see, with a friend’s help, that the scientific data actually points to creation. This freed me up to believe in the Bible and then work on developing a relationship with Christ.
God works in very different ways for different people. My wife came to understand Christianity and a relationship with Christ at precisely the same time that I did, but by a completely different path.

  2. Lisa Wenninger Says:

To hear this story gives my hope, and rekindles my awareness of the fact that God is working at all times…in the most difficult situations to the simplest. Scott and Kellie walked a line of faith at a times when they were just baby christians, it is amazing!
