  1. Peach Says:

I think if you’re walking in all the light you have, and you’re praying about your decision, God will direct you. It can happen in different ways, so we need to listen carefully, and not make assumptions that deafen us to His voice.

As we can see in the Bible, sometimes God asks people to wait for Him to act, and at other times He tells people that He will help them as they do His will. There are stories in the Bible that tell how God acts at the same time His people act. Take Jesus’ healing of the 10 lepers, for example. They were healed ‘as they were going’ in obedience and faith. The only way to know how God wants to work in the situation is to proceed, and do it prayerfully and carefully.

I think it’s a problem when people assume too much on either side of the spectrum. Assuming that God wants us to put our lives on hold until He gives us a neon sign is bad. Assuming that God doesn’t care what you do as long as you are being kind (or something like that) and you’re smart enough to make important decisions without consulting Him is bad too.

Good podcast, guys. I think you might need to do another one on this issue sometime. There’s a lot to discuss!
